Here is a cool, eco friendly storage option for you. these bins are made from newspaper! That’s right, hand-rolled, woven newspaper. This way, your house can look chic, you can be green and your friends can be envious. Win, win, win, right? You don’t have to tell them which was the most important factor in your purchase, you know!
So, in the magazines I have been reading, I keep seeing ads for Canopy brand products. And these are nice looking products: thick towels, high threads count sheets, wood furniture, fancy pants dishes, etc. I finally decided to check them out at Canopy Living and expected a store. You know, with a cart and payment options and, you know, the ability to buy the stuff. Umm, no. Instead, I found a link to “find a store”. Canopy products are available only at Wal-Mart and walmart.com. I’m at Wal-mart like 18 times a week, how did I miss that?
I saw this in a book I read yesterday, and I just feel in love with it! I’d love to do a big bright wall like this. I saw a much more subdued version in a magazine once. All their plates were round, but some of them overlapped. Here’s how they did it.
~First, draw around your plates to create templates.
~Arrange them in a pleasing design. It’s great if there is some overlap, too.
~Tape the templates to the wall and draw around them in the positions the plates will occupy.
~Attach velcro to the back of the plates.
~Attach velcro to the wall for those plates that will be on the wall.
~Mount 1/2 inch thick blocks to the wall for plates that need to come up one level and 1 inch thick for those that need to come up 2 levels, and apply velcro to them.
~Hang the plates using the velcro.
I want a new lawnmower. This one that I have is broken. And my husband hasn’t fixed it and I don’t know how, and grass in my backyard is thigh high, and I am afraid I am going to lose one of my little plastic children out there. Seriously, I would show you a picture, but I am too embarrassed. And also, how redneck is that? Please, send sheep. Or a gift certificate to, like, Sears or something.
I want this squished flat wine bottle for my wall. I have no idea how it’s made, but I’ll ask when I buy it. I’d have it alredy, but when I saw it, I was broke because some people can’t read a calendar and don’t know what “paid on the 1st” means. Considering I saw it over an hour from here, it may be awhile before I get back to it. Considering it was at a winery, it may not be so long after all.
I like this Camelot Bedding Set. Isn’t it gorgeous?? Blue is one of my favorite colors, after pink and red. Ken says no pink bedroom, though I don’t see why. And red is racy, even for me, and while it might make for a festive room, it probably wouldn’t be very restful. So, blue it is. Unless I change my mind, which I might do any number of times between now and the time I actually make my purchase.
I want this bamboo flooring in my kitchen. And maybe new cabinets, too, but definitely new flooring. The linoleum in there is cracked in places, and the shine is worn clean off, and also, there are a couple of holes in it from moving appliances. It’s bad. It’s *gasp* tacky, even. Not at all classy. It must be replaced. Since this is on sale for 2.49/ sq ft, it should only cost about $950 to do my kitchen. Plus shipping. Provided I buy it today. *Insert plastic laughter.*
I just love these bowls! Seriously, how cute are they? With the words on the side, you know exactly what to put in them. And they look good. Food just tastes better when it’s made in pretty dishes! Of course, I probably would not use them to cook, because I would be afraid of breaking them. But I could stack them on the corner of the counter, and they would look so cool. And we all know it’s the looks that matter.
As an aside, did you know that at Target, you can shop for kitchen stuff by color? The very idea makes my eyes sparkle. And you thought that was paint, didn’t you? But it’s not. It’s the concept of being able to order appliances and dishes in my signature color: pink.
Of which red is also a part, because I said so. I can have two favorite colors. It is allowed.
