Yeah, I got it! It came last Friday, and I opened it around 4pm and then played with it until 4am Saturday morning. Then I slept until 7:45 and started playing with it again! My cousin was absolutely correct when she said to activate it on a day off because I wouldn’t be able to keep my hands off of it.
I love the phone, but the app market is absolutely awesome. If you can think of something you want to do with your phone, there’s an app for that. Like, umm, would you like to use your phone as a guitar? App for that! Would you like to have a sex dictionary at your fingertips? App for that! Would you like to do stuff like send texts and read emails? Apps for those, better than the pre-installed ones.
At this point, my three screens are full of icons, and the only things I haven’t been able to find are a different smiley pack (the ones with it are unappealing to me) and a way to make the battery last through a full day. Of course, I imagine that once I find all the stuff I want and quit living on the app market, my battery life will be sufficient. All those people who complain about it really need to learn that a smart phone is a power hungry beast, and you have to plug it in every night. If you have a problem with that, get yourself a basic phone and just be jealous of the rest of us who know how to work a power cord.
Today, I want to show you a camera or two. You know I love a fancy gadget. Right now, I am shooting with a GE 9.1 megapixel A950. I like it quite well, and I haven’t even explored all the bells and whistles. It zooms nicely and I can catch almost anything with it. So, I look at cameras, but I am really not interested in upgrading until I have the time to devote to photography as a serious hobby. I’ll probably want to get an SLR at that time. I’ve never had one of those and all the different effects you can get with the lenses intrigue me. Of course, all those add-ons are real budget busters, LOL!
Of course, you know that my favorite color is pink, right? So how could I resist a pink digital camera? My current one is black. Hmmmm, I bet I could find a cover for it, though. I could *disguise* it as a camera suitable for Barbie, see.
Ok, if you are reading this blog, you like to shop. And if you like to shop, you will absolutely LOVE The Clearance Chick. Visit her blog, and like her on facebook. She’s rockin’ the free and on sale bidness, peeps!
Let’s just jump on in here with the next thing on my wish list. This, darlings, is the Samsung Moment, and I want it. It’s a droid based phone and it thrills me so much I call it the “fluffer phone”, because it runs second string to the new Evo, which is a “porn phone” and way more phone that I need. I hope to have this baby in my hot little hands sometime this month, and I’ve already been warned not to open it until I have a full day off, because it will take most of that day to quit drooling all over it.
You will, of course, hear more about it then.
So, hi. Eighteen months and two days later, Barbie is back. I’ve still got that passel of real-haired kids, but Ken is gone, gone, gone. And I am so ok with that. It’s been so long since I’ve blogged here that I am not quite sure how to start. I’m still collecting shoes, I’m still drooling over tech gadgets and I’m still middle-aged. I’m still also most of the other stuff on that category list over there, except for the bedroom part. Not much happening in that area at all. Just sayin’
See this? It’s called a Flip Ultra, and I want one. I’ve been wanting to do a little more video blogging, and this would make it so very easy. The Flip will record up to 60 minutes of video, and it accepts a tripod, which I already have one of. This would make it simple to do knitting demonstrations or interviews with the kids, or whatever. And it’s only $149. And pink. Love me some pink!
I think I want one of there. Seriously, how cute is a computer that is the size of a trade paperback? Clearly you can see that it is the perfect accessory for this Internet Barbie, right? It weighs about 2 pounds, will fit in a largish purse, and runs on Linux. You can surf the web, read email, and even skype your best bud, and the price tag is around $350. What’s not to covet?
Squeee! Look at this new 4GB Zen Moziac! It comes in PINK. Pink, Pink, Pink! And it’s twice the size of the player I have. With built in speakers. And I want it. Want, want, want. Pleeeeeeeeease! My current player is also a Zen, but it’s only 2 GB, and boring black. Clearly, I need some color here, people. Yesterday was plenty soon enough. No rush. Really. I’ll be waiting. Right here. With my hand out.
I want an HDRadio for my desk. Like regular radio, only clearer and better. And it can play your mp3 player, too. Of course, I might want to wait until digital radio is actually available in my area to upgrade. Until then, it’s a cute little paperweight. Except that I want a radio for my desk anyway. And the new HD ones can pick up analog signals, too, but analogs cannot pick up the HD signals. I think. Yes, that must be it. And I want it.
