The Flip

Hi Tech Barbie | Tuesday, 30 September 2008

F260P 01largeSee this? It’s called a Flip Ultra, and I want one. I’ve been wanting to do a little more video blogging, and this would make it so very easy. The Flip will record up to 60 minutes of video, and it accepts a tripod, which I already have one of. This would make it simple to do knitting demonstrations or interviews with the kids, or whatever. And it’s only $149. And pink. Love me some pink!

Dreaming by Tommy Hilfinger

Glamorous Barbie | Monday, 29 September 2008

main imgI tested the new Dreaming today, if by testing one can mean “ripped of the cover on the magazine sample that wasn’t even a wet pad, but only a scented spot on the page”, and I like it. The scent is warm and soft, but not too flowery. It’s not overly sexy, but very comforting, and I think it would be a good fragrance for every day use. The longer I left it open on my desk, the more I wanted it.

Haha, no surprise that I like this fragrance. After I smelled it and jotted my review notes, I went to the site to get a picture, and who’s staring at me but a Marilyn look alike? Yeah, I have a little Marilyn fixation. You can get over it. And now, I must truly have this perfume. The music isn’t bad either!

Zafu.com

Clothes Horse Barbie | Friday, 26 September 2008

2milFirst off, let’s be clear that Zafu.com doesn’t sell anything. They make all their money from advertising. What Zafu.com does is to send you to other places to buy stuff after helping you find the perfect jeans/bra/pants for you. I tried it tonight, with both jeans and bras. They did suggest the bra I normally wear (and love) but it was last on the list. I’ll have to check out their other suggestions. As for jeans, I selected the wrong answer early in the process, and I think my results were skewed from that. Unfortunately, the site works on cookies and now “my jeans” are stored until the cookie expires. Poor me, I have to “shop” again. It’s a hard life.

ETA: You can click “all about me” to re-answer the questions.

Christian Louboutin C’est Moi Booties

Shoe Fetish Barbie | Thursday, 25 September 2008

0452507002177 275x275No, I do not have a Christian Louboutin fetish, thank you for asking. What I do have is a shoe fetish, and that’s different. It just so happens that Louboutin designs totally fabulous shoes, that’s all. I mean, what’s not to love about this shoe? The wonderfully high heel, the red sole, the covered buttons, the supple leather, it’s all perfectly marvelous. *Le sigh of desire* But at $825, my virtue is safe– I can afford only to lust, but never to fornicate. Darnit.

Yummy Rice Cakes

Low Fat Barbie | Tuesday, 23 September 2008

home img caramel appleLately, I’ve been enjoying Quaker rice cakes. They are pretty cheap at $1.50 for 14, and they come in flavors like caramel corn and honey vanilla. The best part is that they only have 50 calories each, so you can add a tablespoon of peanut butter for a protein boost, and still come in at 150 calories. Two of them like that would count as breakfast, and even my Barbie brain can handle that much math.

Asus eee pc

Hi Tech Barbie | Monday, 22 September 2008

411U2UjcfrL. SL160 AA115 I think I want one of there. Seriously, how cute is a computer that is the size of a trade paperback? Clearly you can see that it is the perfect accessory for this Internet Barbie, right? It weighs about 2 pounds, will fit in a largish purse, and runs on Linux. You can surf the web, read email, and even skype your best bud, and the price tag is around $350. What’s not to covet?

Organic Root Stimulator

Glamorous Barbie | Thursday, 18 September 2008

lock twistI have been trying different hair products for about 18 months now, and I think I may have finally found a long term keeper. While I was in Orlando, Marisa introduced me to Organic Root Stimulator Lock and Twist Gel. All jokes aside, and if you read my main blog, you know I have made some, this is some good stuff. BTW, Marisa is about to launch a beauty site, she says. And I say that when she does that, you need to get over there and read what she has to say, because in the glam department, that woman knows of what she speaks. I’ll update this post with a link, and give her a new shout out once she launches.

Clothes Horse Packing

Clothes Horse Barbie | Tuesday, 16 September 2008

Just in case you thought I might not e qualified to post on the subject of being a clothes horse, I present to you an image of the stuff I packed for a 5 days 4 night trip. All of it got worn except for the peach tank. And I went through two shirts I got while I was there. If you look closely, you can see 4 necklaces and three pairs of high heels in addition to the clothes. And I made it all fit, plus makeup, in one small carry on and a back pack. On the way home, I added a board game in a metal box. I’m good people. Really good.

Slinky is good

Bedroom Barbie | Wednesday, 10 September 2008

Do you know what that is on the left? It’s a pile of my nighties, those which might best be called negligees. I found a stash of them yesterday when I was sorting kid stuff, and I brought them back out of storage and back into the bedroom. Ladies, there is a time and a place for comfy cotton jammies, and there is a time and place for slinky and silky, too. Don’t ever forget that keeping your Ken entertained at home is a good idea, and can be lots of fun for you, too. His mind is going to wander during the day–an average of 12 times a minute I believe the stats say– to sex. Making sure it wanders to YOU at those times is fairly easy, if you give it just a few seconds’ thought.

Cosette

Shoe Fetish Barbie | Tuesday, 09 September 2008

Just look at this shoe. Isn’t it wonderful? The perfect pinkness, the high heel, the dazzling stitchwork. Reviews are mixed, but since zappos pays the shipping both ways, it can’t hurt to try them. And at just 69 bucks (who decided on that price?), you can buy 15 pairs for less money than one pair of Christian Louboutin’s. And did I mention that they are pink? Love me some pink!
